Make the most out of skiing – we take care of your security

Whether skiing is safety or not depends on the skier. It’s essential to ski in slopes that suit to your skills, not to mention that the right conditions need to be taken into account as well. In Finland, slopes are well taken care of and the safety assessments are always adapted based on the current conditions. Well-maintained slopes are a good place to learn brakes and turns.

Finnish ski resorts leave no room for hazard. Safety-fences, signposts and pads are checked and cleaned every day, even several times a day in poor snow conditions .

The Finnish Ski Area Association has published a guide with 10 rules for slopes. In addition, take a look at ski.fi pages, where you can find in the significations for the signs that you may see in the slopes.

Most of the slopes in almost every Finnish ski resort are illuminated. Efficient lighting makes a safe downhill skiing and snowboarding even at dusk. Several resort keep their gates open and lifts running until late evening. Skiing down illuminated slopes is a wonderful experience.
