Ski Lift Operations Manager Training
Each ski resort in Finland must have at least one certified ski lift operations manager. The Finnish Ski Area Association (FSAA) organizes training for lift operations managers.
In Finland, great attention is paid not only to slope safety but also to the safety of ski lifts. All lift systems are regularly inspected and maintained. In addition, every ski resort must have at least one certified ropeway system (ski lift) operations manager – commonly referred to as the lift manager.
The certification of lift operations managers follows Kiwa Inspecta’s personnel certification system and the requirements of the SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17024 standard. The qualification procedure is defined by the Finnish Government Decree 406/2008.
