Code of Ethics for the Finnish Ski Area Industry

1. Background of the Ski Resort Industry Code of Ethics

The Finnish Ski Area Association (FSAA) and its member companies aim to provide safe and inspiring outdoor experiences for both Finnish and international downhill sports enthusiasts in ski slopes and bike parks.

This Code of Ethics describes how FSAA and companies within the ski resort industry operate ethically and responsibly.

2. Customers

Customers are treated like fellow riders – with friendliness and consideration. Our goal is to provide unique experiences supported by welcoming and professional service, high-quality facilities, and safety.

3. Role as an Employer

Within the ski resort industry, recruitment, training opportunities, professional development, and rewards are based on performance and competence, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, nationality, ethnic background, political views, or similar factors.

The ski resort industry does not tolerate any form of physical, psychological, verbal, or sexual harassment.

The industry complies with collective labor agreements and employment legislation.

4. Industry, Members, and Partners

The ski resort industry operates openly and honestly, and complies with laws and regulations set by authorities.

We also expect our partners to act in accordance with this Code of Ethics.

5. Environment

We care about nature and the environment. The Finnish Ski Area Association aims to develop the industry’s environmental efforts in a progressive and comprehensive way.

6. Safety

The ski resort industry takes responsibility for the safety of customers and employees. Promoting slope safety is a core responsibility and is continuously developed.

7. Financial Reporting and Supervision

The Finnish Ski Area Association’s accounting and financial statements are prepared in accordance with applicable rules and regulations. We expect the same from the Association’s members and partners.
